TierPoint Sales Support Associate Leslie Moore says she has a heart for animals, especially those who are lost, sick, abused or endangered. When Hurricane Harvey hit her home state of Texas, Leslie’s thoughts turned to not only the people impacted, but also the pets and wildlife. Leslie was the first of several employees who requested hurricane relief support through TierPoint Gives Back, pointing out the great impact the storm had on the area’s animal life.

Among the four non-profit agencies to receive TierPoint hurricane relief donations was, a nonprofit crowdfunding website that helps animal nonprofits throughout America connect with donors. TierPoint’s donation specifically supported a campaign to assist with the relocation of wildlife displaced by the storm. (Another donation to Austin Pets Alive assisted with emergency post-storm pet rescue and sheltering.) recently featured Leslie on its Facebook page. Here is an excerpt from that post:

“My first rescue was in 1988: Murphy, a Shih Tzu, was sitting unwanted in a pet store because he was so large compared to the younger puppies. Since then I’ve opened my home to 11 dogs and two puppy litters. Madeline, a tiny explosion of fur that ruled our roost, was rescued from Dallas (NorthPark) SPCA. I fostered Romo, who was quickly adopted, and Echo, who I just couldn’t let go. Currently I have two loves that I took in as pups. Haskell, 13, followed me home and Ali, 14, was being thrown into a garbage truck.

I donate [to animal rescue organizations] when I can. I know my rescue efforts are just a drop in the bucket, but I try to do my part and just love the animals that I can.”
